Perfect house and rooms. Amazing glass room with cute candles.
I love the kitchen most! It provides all I need, such as a bottle of oil, spices, and special hand-made sauce. It's really nice with spaghetti.

Very remote location. The cabin was cozy and had beautiful views from all the windows in the living/kitchen area. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and dishes. Overall we had a wonderful experience!

The local pool was lovely - we went in the evening, so it was dark (I really like this).
There was a local cafe/bar that served some great value meals - the lamb chops were sublime.
There is a lovely friendly vibe in Borganes, and I would highly recommend putting it on your trip.

It is a bit run down but it is quiet and the beds are comfortable. Like most of Iceland in our experience, the pillows could be better. Hot pot, coffee, tea, cream and sugar are provided, which was nice. There is free parking, however I can imagine at times it may be hard to find a spot as the lot supports the restaurant as well. We had dinner at the restaurant, food was good and the portion was large.
In a nutshell, this is a decent budget accommodation, with a restaurant on site which makes it convenient. If you plan to eat at the restaurant, make a reservation before 5pm. They were able to squeezed us in without one but there were many who were not as lucky.

Borgarnes is underrated as it doesn't have any bucket-list sights. It's a mid-size small town by Iceland standards, but it's got a lot to recommend it - it's a very typical Icelandic place, and one with a variety of landscapes and bay views.
The Settlement Museum is overpriced (as most Icelandic museums are), but even without a visit there, Borgarnes is a good place for walking. It also has some decent to excellent eateries (the Bara bar and restaurant in the heart of the town is outstanding, and even the N1 station cooks up some of Iceland's best meat soup.)

Beautiful views. Lots to do and see.
Beautiful views. Lots to do and see. An area with a lot of history. A good for both people who like to do independent activities and people who prefer guided tours. It is the place of viking settlements and the sagas. There is a Settlement museum to learn about it. Waterfalls and a la a tube cave you can take a tour of.

We had a few hours here on the way to the Basalt Hotel. Car parking was free. There was a pathed route to walk around the coast. We had coffee and lunch at a wonderful place called Blómasetríð - Kaffi Kyrrð. We sat outside in a beautiful courtyard/garden. The food was excellent and the staff were polite and kind.

Drove by car from Keflavik at 10 AM - visited Akranes lighthouse and nice museum - had great vegetarian buffet lunch in Borgarness - at a vikkingmuseum.
Drove to our hotel and then to the KRAUMA spa and we had dinner there.
Next day we drove to the waterfalls Barnafoss, then to visit the lavagrotto and took over the highland on the road 550 back towards Reykjavik. Great tour!
Fjola and Jon were outstanding hosts. Our apartment on their farm was a haven for our stay near Borgarnes. Views of the surrounding fields were great, and such a nice change from city hotels. The apartment had everything we needed, including a filter coffee maker. The weather turned overnight, and roads were closed the next morning. Fjola kindly informed us of this and offered that we could stay longer, which was very generous.
This was by far the best place we stayed during our trip around Iceland. The room was comfortable with so many luxurious surprises, beautiful art, and a warm energy. Our hosts, Kristen and her husband , were delightful and accommodating. Breakfast was absolutely perfect and lovingly prepared right in the host's kitchen. If you can book this place... you are in for a special treat!
Borgarnes is a nice place to stay, right next to the sea. The hotel itself is next to a great bakery with the best view a bakery can probably have. The gym is cool !
The staff wasn't very welcoming at first, but on the last day two new Polish or Ukrainian speaking persons were smiling, which is I admit one of the small things you expect to get as a guest. Thanks !
Very good value - we had a 22h layover in Iceland, and we were able to rent a car and whole trailer cottage for cheaper than staying at a hotel closer to airport. It was an easy drive with nice views. Great place to sleep before next days flight - we also drove a little more to look at views in the evening. Cozy and functional, with a view to mountain tops.
This was a cute motel off the main road near Borgarnes. Nothing fancy, but the room we had (triple) was spacious and had a deck/balcony. You could walk from the hotel down to the nearby beach which we enjoyed. The breakfast was simple/traditional but we enjoyed it very much. We loved that we could walk down to the beach from the hotel!
Clean, new hotel with very good amenities in the spacious and comfortable room.
Check-in / check-out took just a few seconds.
Breakfast was good, although there could have been a wider selection (more types of cheese and bread, several warm options like bacon, etc.) for a hotel of this size and price range.
The location was perfect. The room and bathroom comfortable and clean. Breakfast was alright, could have been better. Parking outside the hotel was alright, and two very nice restaurants with a walking distance. We didn't try the restaurant at the hotel.
Mila was a delightful and friendly host. The view was ridiculously good and the place was spotless! Very much appreciated the morning coffee and bread to start the day. I would definitely choose this over a hotel on any return trip!
Somehow I thought it is going to be cute boutique hotel, but this is just a hostel in an old building.
Couldn’t stay there, so we left. It was my fault I didn’t read description good enough, so I can’t rate them too bad
Everything!
The movie themed room was awesome. It was like a little home versus a small hotel room. Maja (owner) was very sweet and accommodating. We booked last minute after leave a different hotel down the street.
Very easy and flexible check-in and check-out. The cabin was clean and well equipped. The biggest advantage of this place is an opportunity to walk outside the farm and pet sheep or Icelandic horses.
Very helpfull staff. The hostelroom is located in a fancy hotel. Very beautiful interior. For that price... Best price-quality I booked in all Iceland. Good beds, nice food at the restaurant.
Really friendly host in a beautiful location. Borgarnes is a great base to get out and discover this part of Iceland. The accommodation is a real home from home place to stay.
Loved this hotel, clean, comfortable and best continental breakfast on trip.
Handy to shops and landmarks.
Great start to exploring the peninsula.
Geothermal spa a bonus.
The staff was very friendly. The hotel had a great view. It is a bit remote, but that adds to the rustic charm! The lamb served for dinner tasted great as well.
